Funeral services for Edward Abbott Timperley were held Wednesday afternoon, Apri l9, from the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Edward Abbott Timperly was born at Irvington, Neb. on the 9th day of June, 1865, where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Timperley,who had come to Nebraska with the Mormon migration, farmed. Edward Timperley and his six sisters and nine brothers spent their childhood days in a happy home environment in spite of the many perils and hardships which beset the early pioneers.
October 6, 1886, he was united in marriage with Miss Lilly Williams of Omaha. Four sons and four daughters were born to this union, all of whom survive. Throughout his lifetime, until he retired seven years ago and moved to Omaha, Mr. Timperly made his home on the farm where he was born.
In 1951, Mr. and Mrs. Timperly were privileged to celebrate their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary. Of a rugged constitution, Mr. Timperly enjoyed good health all his life until several months ago. Death came to him late Sunday evening at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gottsch, at the ripe old age of 86 years, nine months and 27 days. Surviving him are his wife, Lilly; four sons, John and Edward of Omaha, Arthur of Irvington, and Joe (Timperly) of Canon City, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. W.H. Gottsch, Mrs. Matt Baumer and Mrs. Ben A. Gottsch of Omaha, and Mrs. Frank Talbert of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Omaha, and one brother, Frank of Irvington; 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and many more distant relatives and friends.
Edward married Lilly Ann Williams in Omaha, Nebraska, October 6, 1886. Lily was born September 29, 1868. Lily was the daughter of John Henry Williams and Loretta Schroeder. Lily Ann died August 26, 1955 in Ingleside, Nebraska at 86 years of age. Her body was interred September 2, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Note: Clarence was struck by lightning 11 miles from Atlantic, Iowa. A brother-in-law, Joseph Scanlon was killed. Another brother-in-law, John Phalen was revived.
