Theo Charles Hotze, one of five children of Hazel Olive (Smith) and Ray Hotze, was born on his parent's farm near Carson, Iowa on February 21, 1916. He grew up in Carson helping his parents on the farm and graduated from the Carson High School in 1934. Following school, Theo continued to work with his parents on the farm.
Theo and Leah Mildred Clark were married in Denison, Iowa on July 10, 1939. They made their home on the farm near Carson and were blessed with four children Randall, Kenton, Susan, and Jane.
Theo enjoyed the farm and livestock, and was for many years a livestock shipper to the Omaha Stockyards in Omaha, Nebraska. Theo's love for the farm and outdoors was evident in his numerous conservation awards, his membership in the Farm Bureau, and his leadership in 4-H. Theo also enjoyed traveling and spending summers at the family's cabin at Storm Lake, Iowa. He was a member of the Coral Lodge No. 430 in Carson, a 50 Year Mason, and a member of the Botna Valley Shrine Club.
Theo and Leah had been married 52 years when Leah died on April 6, 1991. Theo continued to live at his home and remained active on the farm and with his Lodge. Theo died at his home on January 3, 2005 at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 12 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leah Hotze, and brother Cleo "Bud" Hotze. He is survived by his sons Randall Hotze and his wife Carolyn of Carson and Kenton Hotze and his wife Judy of Ft. Calhoun, NE; daughters Susan Laird and her husband Edward of North Fort Myers, FL and Jane Wiechmann and her husband Arlyn of Sarasota, FL; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren; sisters Clella Young of Council Bluffs, IA, Neuonia Timberman of Oakland, LA and Marilyn Gray of Clarinda, LA; brother-in-law Cloyd Clark of Oakland, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Clella Grace Hotze Robinson Young, age 86 of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Clarinda, Iowa, passed into eternity with Jesus Friday, April 21, 2006, at her home in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a brief illness.
Clella was born in Carson, Iowa to the late Ray and Hazel (Smith) Hotze on August 19, 1919. She graduated from Carson High School in 1937. She married Richard (Dick) Robinson on July 27, 1940. During the 1940's Dick and Clella lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico while Dick did war time construction. In the 1950's Dick and Clella managed the first trailer court at the airport in Clarinda.
Clella was a homemaker and active in many organizations including Semper Fidelis, Rebecca Lodge and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Clella briefly worked for the Green Stamp Store and Grahams in the 1970's. Cleila enjoyed spending time with friends. You could find her playing cards whenever the opportunity arose. Clella was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church until she moved to Council Bluffs in February 2005.
Clella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Clella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Robinson; daughter, Julie; brothers, Theo and Cleo and husband, Frank Young. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Newman and her husband Roger of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandson, Sean Humble and friend, Tandy Adams of Kansas City, Missouri; great grandchildren, Amber, Chelsea and Dru Humble of Las Vegas, Nevada and Andrew Humble of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Neuonia Timberman of Oakland, Iowa and Maralyn Gray of Clarinda, Iowa and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She married twice. She married Frank Young. She married Richard Robinson in Council Bluffs, Iowa, July 27, 1940.

Funeral services for Maralyn R. Stickler-Gray, age 79 of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Villisca, Iowa, who died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Good Samaritan Care Center, Villisca, Iowa were held Monday, December 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Church with Pastor Charles Mayer officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be donated in her name. Maralyn Ruth Stickler-Gray was born November 8, 1928 in Carson, Iowa, the daughter of Ray Hotze and Hazel (Smith) Hotze. She grew up in the Carson-Macedonia area and was a graduate of Macedonia High School. Maralyn attended Cosmetology School in Omaha. She worked for the telephone company in Clarinda in the 1950’s and she then was secretary/receptionist for Dr. Comeau in Clarinda. Maralyn also worked as a Home Health Aide for Page County Health Care.
Maralyn was a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years and was currently a member of Rose Hill Church, rural Clarinda, Iowa. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Villisca and a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Clarinda. Maralyn enjoyed volunteering at the church and the Good Samaritan Care Center of Villisca. She was always good at helping those that needed a helping hand.
Maralyn is survived by her sons, Jack Stickler and wife Sharon of Clarinda, Iowa, Dave Stickler and wife Jerrie of Clarinda, Iowa; grandchildren, Krista Nelson and husband Jason, Terri Radke and husband Jason, Scott Stickler and wife Val, Chad Isaacson and fiancé Sara Volkmar, Ryan Isaacson and wife Erin, Misty Mallonee and husband John Erick, Jesse Stickler, Alana Stickler and Joana Parrott; thirteen great grandchildren; step-sons, Kevin Gray of Clarinda, Iowa and Gary Gray and wife Beth of Villisca, Iowa; sister, Neuonia Timberman of Oakland, Iowa and many other relatives and friends. Preceding Maralyn in death were her parents; brothers, Theo Hotze and Bud Hotze; sister, Clella Robinson Young; great granddaughter, Geneh Radke.
